Before joining the company, Kilby served seven
years as a high school teacher and five years
as a staff member on the collegiate level. On
the secondary education level she assisted with
the creation of a faculty/staff employment manual,
and served on several committees including; the
Secretary’s Commission on Achieving Necessary
Skills Committee, Nonsexist-Multicultural Textbook
Committee for planning school district textbook
standards, and the National Forensic League’s
East Iowa District Committee.
While working in higher education, Kilby led
key initiatives to increase the effectiveness
of communication and branding strategies at various
institutions, including spearheading the development
of innovative presentations, implementing a training
system and manual for incoming Admissions Representatives,
and implementing a strategic plan to increase
the efficiency of a campus phone line system.
In addition, she has effectively managed large
and diverse recruiting territories like Dade,
Broward and Brevard Counties in Florida; and the
states of New Jersey and New York.
Kilby has illustrated her
passion for education and helping others by
serving as a member of Queens University of
Charlotte’s Diversity Council, Staff Council,
Chair of the Staff Communication's Committee, and
Staff Liaison for the Office of Multicultural
Affairs Peer Mentor Program.
A graduate of Queens University of Charlotte
with a Master's of Arts in Organizational Communication,
she continues to serve the Charlotte community
as an instructor for the School of Communication
at Queens and an instructor for the Arts and Communications
department at Central Piedmont Community College.
